SDABJ continues to support journalistic excellence
by providing scholarships to graduating high school seniors and college
students. SDABJ is embarking to fulfill that essential part of our mission
by working with corporations and private individuals to channel resorces
to students that need assistance to fufill their dream of becoming a
journalist. SDABJ was designated as a charitable organization by the
IRS and the State of California which makes donations tax deductible.
All donors will be recognized for their participation in The San Diego
Association of Black Journalists Scholarship Program SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION The San Diego Association of Black Journalists has several scholarships. They are geared toward high school and college students and older students who are not currently in the journalism field. To be eligible, high school and college applicants must currently attend or have graduated from a high school in San Diego County. The National University applicants must have 3 years of residency in San Diego County. The scholarships are as follows: 1. $3,000 scholarship to a college journalism student at a 4-year institution 2. $1,500 scholarship to a college journalism student at a 4-year institution 3. $1,000 scholarship to a high school student planning to pursue
a journalism or related career at a 4-year institution These scholarships are awarded in late April. To
